Student Spotlight

Roger's story

When I started working with Leslie, I had just gotten serious about pickleball. I was playing four or five nights a week, two to three hours at a time, plus a league. My legs were so tight above my knees that walking was uncomfortable, I couldn't get low on the court, and I was honestly worried I was headed for an injury that would take me out of the game.

Now, I'm playing the same amount with little to no pain. I have a real warm-up and cool-down routine, and Leslie has given me tools I use at home: stretching, compression, heat and cold, and how to actually use my massage gun. More than that, I understand my body now. When something hurts, I know why it's happening and what to do about it. My flexibility and mobility are way up, and I move better on and off the court.

What sets Leslie apart is that he takes the time to understand where you are and what you're trying to do, then meets you there. During a session he's constantly checking in on what you're feeling, pushing you when you need it and pulling back when you don't. He knows me well enough now that I'll walk in and he'll say, 'Your shoulders look off today, what's going on?' That kind of attention only comes from someone who genuinely cares about the people he works with, and it shows.

Sessions are also just fun. We laugh the whole time. He's easy to talk to, easy to work with, and it stopped feeling like a business transaction a long time ago.

If you feel like your body isn't keeping up with what you want to do, whether that's a sport or just everyday life around the house, work with Leslie. Any age, any level. I can't recommend him enough.
